Hallmark hits £1m charity landmark
Breast cancer research projects across the UK and Ireland, this Mother’s Day 14th March, will have benefited from a landmark £1 million of funding from UK greetings cards publisher, Hallmark Cards.
2010 marks the fourth consecutive year of Hallmark Cards’ Cards for a Cure™ campaign which has donated £1/4 million to breast cancer charities for Mother’s Day every year since 2007, irrespective of card and gift sales.
This year, the total donation reaches the £1 million mark, with 48 specific breast cancer research projects now having benefited from the contribution from Hallmark Cards’ Corporate Giving Programme.
Tamsyn Johnston-Hughes from Hallmark Cards, said: “Our Cards for a Cure™ campaign is something that we are extremely proud of and it has been a hugely successful initiative. It is fantastic to reach the £1 million mark and to know that all of the money donated to date has, and will, play such an influential role in breast cancer research projects being undertaken throughout the UK and Ireland.
Christina Partakides, Breast Cancer Campaign’s Corporate Partnerships Manager said, “Hallmark’s contribution of a staggering £1 million and continued support has made a major difference to breast cancer research projects throughout the UK and Ireland. Not only has the donation helped us continue funding world-class research, but Hallmark’s high profile marketing campaign builds awareness of the importance of our work, which we are truly grateful.”
