enGreet hits BP with satirical greetings

Oil giant BP faces yet more pressure over its ruptured well in the Gulf, this time from US card company, enGreet.

The company has teamed up with leading political cartoonists to release Gulf Action, a platform that lets users send satirical, oil spill-related greeting cards to political officials to draw attention to the ongoing environmental disaster.

enGreet says twenty percent of card sales will be donated to charitable organizations working to clean up the spill.

The 20 available greeting cards feature the designs of some of the US's leading political cartoonists, including Steve Greenberg, Paul Fell (shown here) and Joe Mohr. The cards mix humor with the provocative while providing a sobering representation of the situation facing the Gulf as a result of the oil spill.

Blank cards (with the cartoon message) are costing $2.99 apiece but for an extra fee, buyers can personalise them with their own message and have them sent directly to a politician or another person of their choosing.

Further details are available from the enGreet site.
