Hallmark stuns dad with Father's Day TV ad
Hallmark’s personalised card service scored a winner for one lucky dad in the run up to Father’s Day with his own special TV ad.
Jim Crewdson of Grimsby was secretly nominated by his daughter, Anna Wilson (right) from Kettering for a competition run by hallmark.co.uk. The prize was to have a Father’s Day TV advert produced in his honour and aired during a break on ITV1’s Britain’s Got Talent.
Jim had no idea he was the lucky winner until it aired during the programme.
The Father’s Day advert, which was created by Leo Burnett, featured Anna, 29, talking to camera telling her dad why she loves him and was shown for the next two weeks. It shows pictures of Jim and his children through the years and the personalised Father’s Day card Anna chose for her dad. Secret video cameras captured his reaction to seeing it for the first time, which is available to view at

Jon Taylor, from Hallmark Cards online, commented: “We launched the competition to find someone who wanted to go even further to show their dad they cared with their very own personalised advert.
“We chose Jim as the winner as the entry from Anna really stood out. Thankfully his whole family managed to keep it from him, so he knew he had been shortlisted but thought the judging was yet to happen - his reaction was priceless.”
Anna nominated Jim, aged 63, as the most deserving dad – nicknamed ‘Sir Weeps-a-lot’ for crying at every fatherly occasion, from his children losing their first teeth to the receiving of each Father’s Day card he’s ever been sent.
