Gemma International signs distribution deal with Is It Art
Gemma International has signed an exclusive deal with Is It Art Ltd for distribution of its Greetings products to the Independent retail sector in the UK (excluding NI). The deal is effective from 1 April 2010.
This partnership is designed to see Gemma's licensed and generic kids becoming more accessible to a broader base of independent retailers across Great Britain.
Is It Art will continue employment and agent contracts with all Gemma International’s current sales team. This will enable continuity of service to all of Gemma’s existing customers.
Gemma’s new Chief Executive, David Wesson said:
“At Gemma, we are passionate about delivering the best kids products in the market to our customers. This deal allows us to really focus on what we’re good at - creating and designing best-selling product ranges which will continue to allow all our customers to maximise their selling opportunities at retail. We are delighted to be partnering with Martin and the team at Is it Art who will be focussing on what they’re good at - using their resource and extensive expertise to deliver our Greetings product with fantastic service to the whole of the independent trade.”
Is it Art Managing Director, Martin Nevin said:
“It is a great honour for us to welcome the Gemma International brand to the Is It Art portfolio. We are indeed very excited to be involved in the next chapter of the Gemma story, given the long standing pedigree of the business.
We believe that (given the fantastic licensed products currently available and due for release over the coming months) both existing and new, Is It Art / Gemma customers will clearly benefit from re-establishing trading in the top licenses Gemma International have to offer.
Given the added breadth this relationship will bring, to our existing portfolio, we are hopeful that this partnership will establish Is It Art as the ‘supplier of choice’, for licensed cards & wrap, to the UK Independent card & toy marketplace.”
