New wholesaler for West Midlands

New wholesale business, Midlands Card & Party has opened for business in the Blackheath/Halesowen area of the West Midlands.

The new operation operated by Michael Howitt and Les Platt hopes to fill the gap left by the area's previous wholesale business, Jervis.

"We saw a gap in the market when Jervis went," says Howitt. "We're on the other side of Birmingham from Budget and Greetings House so we realised there was probably a good account base here that needed an operation like Midlands Card & Party. Plus it helped that Les worked for Jervis for 16 years so knows the wholesale landscape here really well."

The new wholesaler has taken on a 5,200 sq ft new build industrial unit and plans to offer a pre cash & carry business to begin with while looking at a serviced operation in the future. The supplier base includes Hambledon Studios, Simon Elvin, Pinnacle and Regent.
