David Wesson appointed to
chief executive at Gemma International
David Wesson has been made Chief Executive at licensed character specialist, Gemma International as of April 1st.
Wesson, who joined Gemma as Chief Operating Officer 16 months ago was previously commercial director at the Celebrations retail chain.
A statement from the Gemma board said, "Since joining the team at Gemma in January 2009, David has developed a strong operational platform for the business to ensure delivery of the best kids product and supply chain solution to its customers. David’s appointment will allow Amanda Parkin to take a more focussed strategic role at the Kids Greetings market leader and Amanda will continue to work with David to develop future strategy, licenses and product.
David said: “I am delighted to accept this leadership role at Gemma and to build on Amanda’s success to date, as we seek to develop our product and service proposition for our licensors and our partners at retail. I’d like to thank Amanda for her vision, passion and support and look forward to working with her and the Gemma team to continue to deliver to our customers the best and most exciting Kids product offer in the market.”
