Getting in the spirit

Day two of Thinking Of You Week is well underway

IT’S DAY two of the Greeting Card Association’s Thinking Of You Week and plenty of publishers and retailers are getting in the spirit with Raspberry Blossom running a prize draw on social media for £120 worth of greetings cards and personalised print.

One lucky winner, to be drawn on Sunday from entries on founder Rebecca Crouch’s Instagram (@loveraspberryblossom), Facebook (@loveraspberryblossom) and Twitter (@LoveRaspberryB) feeds, will receive £60 worth of cards for themselves and another £60 worth for their nominated friend – plus a personalised illustration of the pair of them.
Rebecca said: The sentiment of the GCA campaign has been included into the mechanic of my prize drawer with people having to nominate their friend and the reason why they are #ThinkingOfYou.”
Moonpig have a 15 per cent discount on cards all week and spokeswoman Melanie Howe said: “We’ve gifted a selection of Moonpig addicts and bloggers with seven fun cards, one for each day this week.”
Hallmark also have a Facebook competition where people can nominate someone who is always thinking of others, and there are prizes for the winners to treat themselves.
They also have an offer where customers can visit a Hallmark store to pick up a free card for Thinking Of You Week.
Earlybird Designs in Stoke Newington, London, have a great window display of cards designed by local children which have all been entered in the store’s TOYW competition where the winner is to be chosen on Monday.
Country House Gift Co are asking people to send cards to 13-year-old leukaemia patient Neve as she gets a really positive boost during her treatment when she receives lots of cards.
Cards can be sent to Neve via Country House Gift Co, 17/19 Woodborough Road, Winscombe, Somerset, BS25 1AB.
This is the second Thinking Of You Week, the GCA’s campaign to encourage people to create a wave of love, caring and happiness by sending a card a day for seven days.
The event was launched at the London Assembly on Sunday where GCA CEO Sharon Little was the guest speaker – see the video on the GCA Facebook page – and they gave away packs of specially-published TOYW cards from Woodmansterne and Great British Card Co, plus pens from Zebra Pens.
Royal Mail launched a special postmark yesterday which is being stamped on everything going through the post – six million items a day – until Thursday.
If you’re running any special Thinking Of You Week events or promotions, email the details, with images if possible, to and we’ll include it on our email newsflash and round-up.
