Hanna’s feeling Mpower-ed

Eclectica founder picked as finalist for inaugural mums in business awards

ECLECTICA’S Hanna Ferguson is on a high after being picked as one of the finalists in the inaugural Mpower National Business Awards aimed at recognising what it takes to make it as a mum in business.

She has just marked her first year running the greetings and gift retailers in Crumlin, Caerphilly, and is one of 12 named in the Community category “for the lady who is there for a community, going the extra mile for others, paying it forward before they may have even reached their goal”.
Mpower is a pioneering community for mums in the early stages of running their own business founded by business coach, mentor and author Nicola Huelin.
Judged by a panel of experts who are all successful parents in business, the winners of the 10 categories –Courage, Inspire, Self-Belief, Spirit, Community, Innovation, Rising Star, Cheerleader, Social Impact, and Vision – will be revealed at the gala in London on June 23, at the Holiday Inn, Bloomsbury.
“There are a lot of awards out there, and we are proud about what makes these awards, and the women who enter, different!” mum-of-four Nicola said.
“Often invisible to most, mums in business are changing the business landscape, while raising and inspiring the generations of the future. We believe their efforts and successes in overcoming the unique challenges of combining business and motherhood, particularly in those first few years when it’s the hardest, need to be recognised and celebrated.”
